Livesay B Correctional Institution operates adjacent to Livesay A but serves a different classification of inmates with higher security needs. Built on a shared campus to allow flexibility in how South Carolina manages custody levels, Livesay B houses adult male inmates requiring additional supervision. While security remains a priority, Livesay B also connects residents with programming such as academic classes, counseling, and reentry planning to foster personal growth and positive transition outcomes. Its design reflects modern approaches to correctional management that balance safety with opportunities for skill development.
JUMPSTART South Carolina is a faith-based nonprofit organization that equips incarcerated men and women for lasting transformation through in-prison discipleship and reentry support programs. Founded in 2008, the organization partners with churches, volunteers, and employers across South Carolina to help returning citizens rebuild their lives. Through its 40-week discipleship program, transitional housing, and job-creating social enterprises, JUMPSTART SC provides the structure, community, and accountability needed for success after incarceration. Rooted in the belief that with Christ, anyone’s future can be greater than their past, JUMPSTART South Carolina is restoring lives and strengthening communities statewide.
